About The Vina
Originally built in 1917, The Vina is a collection of classic Craftsman residences that have long been part of downtown Santa Barbara.
In 2025, the homes were thoughtfully reimagined with a simple idea: preserve their original character while creating comfortable, beautifully finished spaces for modern stays. Original details were kept wherever possible and paired with updated interiors, carefully chosen furnishings, and everyday comforts.
Named for historic De La Vina Street, The Vina reflects what we love about Santa Barbara—beautiful architecture, walkable neighborhoods, coastal living, and a genuine sense of place.
We’ve intentionally kept The Vina small. Our goal was never to create a traditional hotel, but a limited collection of individual residences where guests can settle in, explore the neighborhood, and experience Santa Barbara a little more like a local.

Known as the American Riviera, Santa Barbara is a city where history, architecture, and coastal beauty come together. The area was originally home to the Chumash people before the Spanish established the Santa Barbara Presidio in 1782 and Mission Santa Barbara in 1786, now known as the "Queen of the Missions."
Following the 1925 earthquake, much of the city was rebuilt in the beautiful Spanish Colonial Revival style that defines Santa Barbara today. Be sure to visit the iconic Santa Barbara County Courthouse, stroll through the historic ElPresidio and explore nearby State Street, where the city's rich history and vibrant culture continue to thrive.
